Dream Teams?
Heh, Happy VD to you all!
So... as the primaries are starting to wind down, I'm thinking more and more about general election that's en route and about potential running mates.
It's fairly clear that the election will pit McCain vs Obama. That's a pretty good fight in my opinion. McCain would have rather had the Hilbot to run against, but alas, he baggage (real or perceived) dragged he down.
I'm interested in who these two are going to choose as their running mates.
I really, really hope that Obama takes Edwards on. I think the two of them would work well and I genuinely like Edwards.
If I were McCain... I'd do all that I could to bring Colin Powell in.
I think that Powell brings a level of respect to the republican ticket that McCain doesn't have. The strong right of the Repubs have never liked him and the middle of the road and indies are souring on the recent Bush lovin' that they've seen.
In 1995 I made a prediction that Powell would be the first black man elected to the White House as a Pres or VP... I still think he's got it in him.
Powell got screwed by the Bushites but didn't really burn any bridges when he left.
I think an Obama/Edward & McCain/Powel race would be a pretty interesting race to watch.
